TheOmegon Light Pollution Filteris a type ofbroadband filter. Its effectiveness makes ituniversally applicable. The broad passband allows star clusters, galaxies, nebulae and comets to be better observed. However, it alsofilters outannoying artificiallightsuch as street lighting.
Both the UHC and OIII filters are limited in their application to a few objects. The Light Pollution Filter is therefore more useful for generallyincreasing the contrastof faint objects, without filtering out the spectrum of possible observing targets.
TheOmegon Light Pollution Filteris not only useful at light-polluted sites; the contrast is also increased at dark sky sites.
