Baader SkySurfer 5 - the ultimate red dot finder and solar finder in one

The SkySurfer 5 comes from the military sector, but it was optimised for the "friendly" astronomical use. What has remained is the robust workmanship. The SkySurfer 5 is a purchase for life. The finder has the following advantages and features:

♦ All glass surfaces are non reflecting and fitted with a special astro coating for maximum light transmission. The sky is hardly darkened, all stars are visible also through the finder.

♦ The red dot finder can be used for observation during daylight and at night. The brightness of the light dot can be set to one 9 levels, so it is bright enough for daylight and will not dazzle at night.

♦ All optical surfaces are of high-quality glass and are watertight through O-ring seals.

♦ The finder can be aligned parallel to the telescope by big adjusting screws. The adjusting screws are hidden under cover caps, thus avoiding unintentional misalignment.

♦ Within seconds, the finder can be converted into a full-fledged solar finder. It is not necessary to remove it for this purpose. The front cover has a small hole. Through this, the sun is projected onto the acrylic glass surface. When the small sun disc is centred, you also have the sun in the field of the low magnifying telescope. Please make sure that you have protected the telescope with a front filter and ensure that the filter fits well BEFORE starting the observation. Always follow the safety instructions on your telescope for observing the sun.
